The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a substantial bonus of Rs 415 crore (approximately USD 15 million) for India’s T20 World Cup-winning team.

This announcement came after India secured a thrilling seven-run victory against South Africa in the final held in Barbados.

The bonus reflects the team’s outstanding performance and dedication to the sport, which has made the nation proud.Board secretary Jay Shah lauded the team for their exceptional talent and sportsmanship.

The team demonstrated remarkable resolve and resilience, becoming the first team in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup to win the tournament unbeaten.

The leadership of Rohit Sharma, the exceptional batting of Virat Kohli, and the impressive bowling of Jasprit Bumrah were some of the highlights of the tournament.

In addition to the BCCI’s bonus, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had already declared a record cash prize of USD 2.45 million for the tournament winners.

The total prize pool for the T20 World Cup was doubled this year to USD 11.25 million, ensuring that all 20 participating teams received a share of the increased winnings.

This financial boost is expected to benefit players and support the development of cricket in their respective countries.
