A massive fire broke out at the Pakistan Stock Exchange building in Karachi, halting trading activities. The fire, which started at one of the brokerage houses, was successfully contained by rescue officials.

There were no reported casualties in the incident.

Trading was suspended for nearly two hours as fire brigades worked to extinguish the fire. The PSX building houses several brokerage firms, and the fire caused significant disruptions to trading activities.

Despite the disruptions, the KSE-100 index, the PSX’s main index, gained points in intraday trade and reached an all-time high.The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation.

The PSX has assured investors that the situation is under control and that trading has resumed. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of the PSX building and the need for improved fire safety measures.
