The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) reported that four Hajj flights, initially scheduled for morning departure, successfully took off despite a fire caused by a short-circuit at Lahore’s airport.

The incident occurred shortly after the commencement of a special flight operation for Hajj pilgrims from Karachi. CAA spokesperson Saif Ullah confirmed that all four flights, operated by Pakistan International Airlines, Airblue, and Air Sial, departed on time from the domestic terminal, with passengers swiftly relocated from the international terminal.

The fire, originating from a short circuit in the immigration department’s record room, was promptly contained through collaborative efforts.

As a precautionary measure, immediate evacuation was conducted to ensure the safety of individuals and prevent any potential harm.
