Thomas, I’ve got the scoop for you! Lt Gen Akhtar Nawaz Satti has just been appointed as the new chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) .

This decision was made by the federal government, and President Asif Ali Zardari has already given his stamp of approval following a recommendation by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Lt Gen Satti is set to take on this new role after retiring from the army, and this appointment comes at a crucial time as the FPSC chairman post has been vacant since August 2023 .

This vacancy has caused delays in the Central Selection Board’s meetings, so Satti’s appointment is a welcome development.

Before this appointment, Lt Gen Satti served as the chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), a position he held since 2020 .

His experience and leadership skills will undoubtedly be valuable assets in his new role as FPSC chairman.
