Over the past two months, the price of rice has significantly decreased by nearly Rs60 per kg, following the declining trends in wheat and flour prices.

This reduction is attributed to effective policies implemented by the Punjab government.

Various types of rice, including Super Kainat, Super Basmati, and Super Kernal, are now available at reduced prices ranging from Rs 210 to Rs 280 per kg.

Sources in the rice market suggest that this decline is a result of improved harvests and the government’s successful measures against market inflation.

Meanwhile, the Excise Department has intensified its enforcement actions against unregistered vehicles and defaulters of token tax, recently halting three vehicles from the tourism department at Liberty Naka.
