A camel named Cammie, from Sanghar, is set to stand for the first time since her leg was brutally chopped off earlier this month.

The wounded camel was shifted to Karachi from Sanghar for treatment and is currently at a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) called CDRS Benji, where she has been receiving treatment.

According to the director of the project for animal welfare at CDRS Benji, the camel will receive an artificial leg once her injury fully heals.

A team from Bioniks Pakistan, a prosthetics manufacturing company, has set up a structure with a harness to help the camel stand up.

The harness, which is attached to the top of the support structure, will be wrapped around the camel to help her stay up.

The management of the NGO has expressed their gratitude to the Department of Livestock and Bioniks Pakistan for their support in the treatment of the wounded camel’s leg.

Six suspects who allegedly chopped off the camel’s leg are in the custody of law enforcers, and their trial is currently underway at a local court.

The camel’s story has touched many hearts, and people are hopeful for her recovery. The effort put in by the NGO, the prosthetics company, and the authorities highlights the importance of animal welfare and justice.
