The Roads General Authority has successfully implemented a project to cover the asphalt around Arafat’s Namira Mosque with a white coating, aimed at lowering temperatures for Hajj pilgrims.
Utilizing locally manufactured materials that absorb less sunlight, this innovative coating helps decrease surface temperatures by approximately 20 degrees Celsius, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, spokesperson for the agency, highlighted that the application of this substance was a collaborative effort involving multiple agencies.
Previously, the same coating was applied to pedestrian pathways leading to the Jamarat area, where the ritual stoning of Satan occurs, resulting in temperature reductions of 12 to 15 degrees Celsius.
