Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Afridi congratulated India’s cricket team for winning the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa.
Afridi praised India’s veteran Virat Kohli, who bagged the Player of the Match award for his 59-ball 76 runs that helped India post a total of 177.
Afridi wrote on Instagram, “Memorable end to a remarkable T20I career, Congratulations India on winning the T20 World Cup.”Virat Kohli became part of the winning Playing XI of all four ICC Men’s events.
He was part of the team which lifted the U19 World Cup in 2008, the Cricket World Cup in 2011, the Champions Trophy in 2013 and now the T20 World Cup in 2024.
India won the U19 World Cup in 2008 by defeating South Africa, the same team they defeated in the T20 World Cup 2024 final.South Africa, chasing the 177 target in the final, fell seven runs short of the target.
The only players to put up a front against the Indian bowling attack were Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen who scored 39 off 31 and 52 off 27 respectively.
